Privacy Policy

The Wonder Schoolhouse LLC (TWS, we, us, or our) operates early childhood programs in Sandy, Utah. This policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose personal information through our website, inquiries, tours, enrollment, childcare services, and communications, including text messages.

Questions or privacy requests may be sent to info@thewonderschoolhouse.com. This policy explains our practices; visiting our website or reading this policy does not itself give consent to marketing texts, optional tracking, or other activities that require separate consent.

1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:

  • Contact and inquiry information: Parent or guardian names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, tour requests, program interests, and information you choose to send us.
  • Child and family records: Names, birth dates, enrollment and attendance records, emergency contacts, authorized pickup information, relevant custody documents, care instructions, learning observations, and incident reports.
  • Health and care information: Allergies, immunization records or permitted exemptions, medication authorizations, medical or developmental needs, dietary restrictions, and other information needed to care for a child. These records may contain sensitive personal information.
  • Billing and program information: Tuition agreements, invoices, payment status, transaction records, and information needed for financial assistance, childcare subsidies, or meal programs. Payment services may collect payment-card or bank details under their own notices.
  • Communications and media: Emails, texts, form submissions, communication preferences, consent records, photos, videos, and school security-camera footage. If a telephone call is recorded, we provide notice and obtain consent where required.
  • Website and device information: IP address, browser and device information, approximate location, pages visited, referral sources, cookie identifiers, and interactions with forms or advertisements.

We receive information directly from you, through school staff and service providers, from people you authorize, and from agencies or professionals involved in authorized services or legal requirements. Website technologies may collect information automatically. Please use our designated enrollment or school communication channels for sensitive records rather than public website forms or ordinary text messages.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to answer questions, arrange tours, manage enrollment and billing, provide childcare and educational services, communicate with families, accommodate care needs, maintain safety, and administer subsidies and meal programs. We also use it to maintain records, investigate concerns, protect our systems, meet legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

We may use contact information and website activity to understand interest in our programs, measure advertising results, and promote TWS to adults, subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements. Marketing-text consent is separate from enrollment and service communications. Photos, videos, and testimonials used publicly are subject to the relevant permission or release; this policy does not replace that permission.

3. When we disclose information

We disclose information as reasonably needed for the purposes above to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers: Website hosting, scheduling, school management, payments, email and texting, cloud storage, administrative support, and security providers. Platforms used for these functions include Squarespace, Playground, and Brightwheel. Providers receive information relevant to the services they perform, subject to appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions.
  • People involved in a child’s care: Authorized parents or guardians, approved contacts, and professionals involved in a child’s care, subject to legal authority, applicable permissions, custody restrictions, and the privacy of other families.
  • Agencies and professional advisers: Licensing authorities, subsidy and meal-program administrators, emergency responders, insurers, accountants, and legal advisers, where authorized or required. We may disclose information to comply with law, mandatory reporting duties, lawful process, or to protect safety and legal rights.
  • Analytics and advertising providers: Website identifiers and activity information used for measurement or advertising, subject to applicable choices. See Section 4.
  • Business successors: Information necessary for a lawful merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of the school, with appropriate safeguards and continued privacy obligations.

We do not sell personal information for money. Certain disclosures of website identifiers to advertising providers may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws even when no money is exchanged. We do not use children’s care records or health information for behavioral advertising. The restrictions on mobile information and texting consent in Section 5 control over any broader sharing language in this policy.

4. Cookies and advertising choices

Our website and third-party tools may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure visits and inquiries, and support advertising. These tools may allow third parties to recognize a browser over time and across websites. Embedded scheduling, video, or social media features may also collect information when used.

You can manage cookies through your browser and through any cookie-preference controls presented on our website. Disabling cookies may affect some features. Where consent is required, optional tracking must remain disabled until you consent. You may also contact us to request an opt-out of data sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable. Choices may need to be repeated on other browsers or devices.

Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we honor that signal for the browser or device that sends it. The older Do Not Track signal does not currently change our website’s practices. Blocking advertising cookies does not necessarily remove all advertising.

5. Text messages and mobile information

With your consent, TWS may send texts concerning your inquiry, requested tour, enrollment, account, or school services. If you separately opt in to marketing texts, we may also send recurring messages about enrollment opportunities, events, and promotions. Messages may be sent using automated technology. We limit messages to the purposes covered by your consent.

Providing a phone number, submitting a general inquiry, or enrolling a child does not by itself authorize recurring automated marketing texts. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchasing services or enrolling. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to end TWS automated texts to that number. You may also revoke consent by another reasonable method, including contacting info@thewonderschoolhouse.com. We honor clear opt-out requests promptly and within applicable legal deadlines. You may receive one non-promotional confirmation. An opt-out from TWS marketing messages also applies to TWS marketing calls and texts to that number. We do not treat necessary school communications as permission to disregard a texting opt-out; we can coordinate another communication method.

Reply HELP for assistance or contact info@thewonderschoolhouse.com or 801-513-3231. Text delivery is not guaranteed, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Tell us if your number changes. Texting is not an emergency service.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or mobile subscriber information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared for another party’s marketing. We disclose SMS opt-in and consent records only to providers needed to operate and support our messaging services, or where legally required. We do not transfer your texting consent to another business so it can market to you.

We may retain your number, messages, delivery information, and consent or opt-out records to provide support, document permission, and honor your preferences. See our SMS Terms and Conditions for additional program details.

6. Children and family information

Our public website and text-message programs are intended for adults, including parents and guardians. We collect information about children from their parents or guardians, authorized sources, and our care activities. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 through our public website or market our texting program to children.

If you believe a child has submitted information directly through our website without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required. Parents and legal guardians may request access to or correction of their child’s records, subject to verification, applicable law, custody orders, and the rights of other people. Security footage is also subject to our school surveillance notices and access procedures.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The period depends on the record, our relationship with the family, licensing and program requirements, tax and accounting obligations, safety needs, and applicable limitation periods. Records relevant to a dispute or legal hold may need to be kept longer. We retain limited opt-out records as needed to prevent unwanted future contact.

When records are no longer needed, we securely delete, destroy, or de-identify them, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a security incident requires notification under applicable law, we provide the required notices.

8. Your privacy choices and requests

You may contact us to ask about your information, correct inaccurate records, request access or deletion, or change communication preferences. Depending on where you live, the information involved, and whether a particular law applies to TWS, you may have rights to access or obtain a portable copy, correct or delete information, opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, limit certain sensitive-information uses, withdraw consent, or appeal a denied request.

Send requests to info@thewonderschoolhouse.com or call 801-513-3231. Include enough information to identify the request without sending unnecessary sensitive documents. We may verify identity and a parent’s, guardian’s, or authorized agent’s authority before releasing or changing records. Verification requirements depend on the request and applicable law.

We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any permitted extension or reason we cannot fulfill a request. Some records must be retained to meet legal duties or protect others’ rights. Where an appeal is available, email us with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. You may also contact the appropriate state privacy authority. We do not unlawfully discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

To stop promotional emails, use the unsubscribe link or contact us. An email marketing opt-out does not prevent necessary non-promotional emails. Texting choices are governed by Section 5.

9. Other services and policy changes

Other websites and services linked from our site have their own privacy notices. Our use of a provider does not make TWS responsible for that provider’s separate activities. Our services operate in the United States, and providers may process information in other countries subject to applicable protections.

We update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change and post the revised date here. We provide additional notice and obtain fresh consent when required. A policy update does not itself expand your marketing-text consent or authorize a new use that requires consent.
