Step 2: FAQ
-
You are welcome to submit an enrollment application before touring, but it will not be considered until after your tour is complete. We require tours because we like to personally meet every parent and give families the chance to meet us too. It is an important part of building connection and making sure the fit feels right on both sides.
-
To join our waitlist, families must first tour the school. After the tour, you will need to complete an enrollment application and pay the $15 waitlist fee. Once all three steps are complete, your child will be added to the waitlist.
-
We maintain low student-to-teacher ratios to ensure personalized attention for each child.
Wee Wonders (Infants): 1:4
Tiny Wonders (12-18m): 1:4
Mini Wonders (18-32m): 1:5
Little Wonders (E-Pre): 1:8
Wonder Sprouts (Potty Training Preschool): 1:8
Big Wonders (Pre/PreK): 1:12
We don’t over enroll our classes meaning the ratios are our absolute maximums and children don’t get moved around without a justifiable reason. Additionally, a dedicated floater teacher is available to provide extra support to classrooms as needed, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all children.
-
Our 2026 tuition rates vary based on your child’s age, attendance schedule, and level of enrollment commitment. We offer sliding scale financial aid, discounts for families who choose higher-commitment plans, and we accept DWS subsidy to help make our program more accessible.
Tuition starts at:
Infants: $950/month
1-year-olds: $900/month
2-year-olds: $850/month
3- to 5-year-olds: $850/month
School-aged children (5+): $850/month
We also offer a 15% sibling discount, along with 12-month commitment, quarterly prepay, and annual prepay savings. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your child’s spot, and a $95 annual supply fee applies. Families may also apply for financial aid and other tuition support options.

Parents consistently highlight the attentive staff, impactful learning, and the thriving environment. One parent shared, “We love how much outside time our child gets and how much they’re learning every day.”
-
Preschoolers participate in hands-on learning through "Kindy Prep" classes and dedicated "Practice Play/Mat Time." Their day also includes enrichment curriculum activities like science experiments, art projects, and themed lessons that foster creativity and critical thinking.
1-Year-Olds engage in small group activities where they are introduced to foundational concepts like circle time and interactive lessons. Teachers guide them in learning how to use play materials purposefully, fostering their natural curiosity and teaching them how to learn through play.
2-Year-Olds are prepared for preschool with a focus on social-emotional learning (SEL), verbal communication, and negotiation skills. We also support them through potty training and nurture early reading, language, and math skills in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Wonder Parents appreciate how our approach blends structured activities with flexibility to meet the unique needs of each child, all while fostering a love of learning and play.
-
To support longer teacher tenure, we pay our teachers approximately 30% above market rates, helping us build a more stable, dedicated team to care for and educate your children. We also offer unique benefits and a tenure program that encourage long-term growth and retention.
-
Starting your child’s journey of wonder is easy! All of our paperwork is sent online.
We encourage a gradual transition, offering parent-and-child observation sessions and personalized support. Using our drop-off routine (SKILL: Squeeze, Kiss, "I love you," Look, Leave) has been a game-changer for many families.
-
Health & Wellness: All children must have up-to-date immunizations unless exempt. Children with contagious illnesses are asked to stay home, ensuring a healthy environment for all.
Behavior Guidance: We teach empathy, social-emotional learning (SEL), and accountability through consistent corrective actions and positive reinforcement. Our teachers work closely with parents to support behavioral growth.
Safety Measures: Our facilities feature state-of-the-art security systems, including restricted access during school hours and regular playground safety checks. Additionally, all staff are trained in CPR and first aid and are background checked.
Parent Communication: The Brightwheel app is used to keep parents informed with hourly updates, photos, and messages. Parents also receive immediate alerts for any urgent updates.
-
We use the Brightwheel app for hourly updates, photos, curriculum details, and immediate notifications.
We send out weekly and monthly newsletters. We also prioritize parent involvement with monthly community field trips. Many parents made incredible friendships through our program!
-
We prioritize outdoor play whenever weather permits (twice a day!), with guidelines to ensure safety and comfort.
-
We collaborate closely with parents, supporting milestones and addressing regressions with care. We use the “Oh, Crap! Potty Training Method” to ensure success.

Why Choose The Wonder Schoolhouse?
-
A True Village for Families
TWS is a strong fit for families who want to feel part of a real village. We are deeply community-based in the way we communicate, build relationships, and partner with parents throughout the school year. Through thoughtful communication, family involvement, and monthly community events, we create an environment where families feel known, supported, and connected. For many parents, TWS becomes more than a school. It becomes part of the village they have been looking for.
-
Our Educational Philosophy
The Wonder Schoolhouse was intentionally designed to preserve what works in approaches like Reggio Emilia and Montessori while addressing the gaps many modern families and children still experience. Built on a Reggio-inspired foundation with S.T.E.A.M. elements and Montessori scaffolding, our program uses what we call curriculum frameworks to create learning that is thoughtful, responsive, and developmentally appropriate rather than rigid or one-size-fits-all.
-
Behavior Philosophy
Our behavior approach is built on proactive prevention, not constant correction after the fact. Developed by Selva through research and hands-on experience, our model combines social-emotional learning, strong classroom systems, and secure attachment with teachers and administrators. We teach children that their choices are separate from who they are, which lowers shame, preserves dignity, and helps them make better decisions. Because of this intentional approach, intense behavioral issues are uncommon in our classrooms.
-
Toddler Program
Our toddler program is designed around the major work of early childhood: learning to communicate, move, explore, and gain independence. We focus intentionally on language development, gross motor confidence, climbing, early self-help skills, and potty training readiness, while also laying the foundation for future academic learning. Children receive monthly curriculum experiences aligned with milestones so their days feel purposeful, engaging, and supportive of who they are becoming.
-
E-Preschool Program
Our early preschool program bridges the gap between toddlerhood and more formal preschool learning. At this stage, children are ready for more structure, deeper engagement, and more detailed curriculum, while still needing plenty of play, movement, and relationship-based support. We help children strengthen attention, communication, independence, and classroom habits so they are not just older, but truly more prepared for the next level of learning.
-
PreK Program
Our Pre-K program offers a highly intentional, detailed curriculum designed to prepare children not only for kindergarten, but for a lifelong relationship with learning. We focus on helping children learn how to think, ask questions, solve problems, and stay curious. Our goal is not rushed academics for appearance’s sake, but genuine readiness, and nearly all of our students score kindergarten-ready by age four.
-
Infant Room
Our infant room is a warm, loving environment where children are cared for with deep attentiveness during the earliest stage of development. We focus on nurturing first skills like connection, communication, movement, sensory exploration, and trust, while creating a calm space where babies can grow at their own pace. It is a gentle, relationship-centered beginning designed to help infants feel safe, known, and deeply cared for from the start.
-
Accessibility & Financial Support
We believe high-quality early childhood education should be more accessible to families. TWS offers financial aid, discounts, and flexible support options to help make enrollment more attainable for a wider range of households. Our goal is to meet families where they are while maintaining the quality, consistency, and care that define our program. We are committed to making meaningful early education feel possible, not out of reach.
-
Transparency & Parent Partnership
We know that for many families, trust is built through communication. That is why transparency is a core part of the TWS experience. Through regular updates in Brightwheel, open communication from our team, and a school culture that values clarity, parents are able to stay informed and connected to their child’s day. We do not believe families should feel shut out from their child’s early learning experience. We believe school and home should work together.
